Jokes [Eridan x Reader]
Boredom had taken its eventual toll on your systems, as the laptop situated in front of you ceased to make any noise. With a grunt, you slammed the lid down, stepping outside in hopes of encountering someone to talk to.
'Figures,' you thought solemnly, randomly walking along a sandy path, 'that no one would talk to me on the only day I'm not busy...'
By some chance of the stars you wound up on the beach, gentle, turquoise waves lapping at the yellow-white sand serenely. The soft glint of now-orange sunbeams shone languidly across the expanse of water, and for a brief moment you were glad you had walked out of your house, less you miss this wondrous sight. However, the magnificent sight was tarnished by a loud, noisy sob, causing you to tear your gaze from the beautiful ocean over to your right, where the noise was emanating. A certain sea dweller was seated on the soft ground, knees up to his chest and face buried between them.
Shuffling in his general direction, you softly called, "Her Eridan..." His head shot up, swollen eyes brimming with purple-ish tears. You recoiled slightly, "Woah, dude. What happened?"
He took in a shaky sigh, before starting in an uneven voice, "W-well, I w-was gonna go hang out w-with Feferi, but she told me not to bother her again..."
Internally sighing, you slumped down beside him, a hand resting on his sob-wracked shoulder, “Well... I think I know what could make you feel better!”
"W-what's that?" He looked up, the confused tone in his voice matching that in his purple eyes.
"I can tell you a joke!"
"W-well, alright. If it'll help me out..."
"W-well that didn't help at all!" He cried louder.
